Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Air Freight Clerk to join our dynamic team. As an Air Freight Clerk, you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating air freight operations, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of cargo. You will work closely with internal departments, external vendors, and clients to ensure efficient handling and transportation of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage air freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinate with airlines, ground handling agents, and customs brokers to arrange bookings, shipments, and documentation.
  • Prepare and process necessary shipping documents, including airway bills, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to clients and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Handle inquiries and provide exceptional customer service, addressing clients’ questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to optimize shipment schedules, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all air freight activities and transactions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in air freight operations, preferably in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of air cargo procedures, documentation, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using freight management systems and software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and data.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and international trade regulations is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours as needed.

Salary & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
