Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management within the freight industry.
  • Deep understanding of the ocean freight market, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong network of contacts within the shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers, exporters, and other relevant industry stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to think strategically, identify business opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on achieving targets and driving business growth.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, sales, or account management within the freight industry.
  • Previous experience in managing and negotiating complex sales contracts and agreements.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools.

Salary

£45,000 – £55,000 (DOE) + uncapped commission and car or car allowance
