Job Summary
- Assist in the day to day picking and packing tasks
- Responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function.
- Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development in order to successfully pick and pack products
- Accurately receive and check orders against packing lists placing articles into location and reduce miss packs by close attention to detail
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets
- Ensure all goods inwards and outwards are accurate, live and dispatched weekly to the customer
- Accountable for picking and packing tasks
- Prepare manual or scanned entry packing lists
- Prepare orders for dispatch
- Prepare weekly on hold stock checks
- Ensure all orders are ordered and booked accurately
- Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately
- Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
- Provide quality checking for all stock returns
- Accountable for looking after customer’s specific requirements
- Produce and send packing lists to customers and enter on to iMove where applicable
- Ensure customer record reporting is always kept up to date and effective customer communication is maintained
- Propose new ideas to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Health and Safety Responsibility
- Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
- Ensure staff comply to health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment
- Report all accidents and near misses to the Team Leader and Health and Safety Manager without delay
- Read and follow any risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Follow the company Health and Safety and Environmental Policy
- Isolate and report all faulty equipment to the line manager without delay
- Maintain good housekeeping of work area at all times
Human Resources Responsibility
- Ensure compliance with the Employee Handbook
- Report Discipline and Grievance issues to the Head of Operations immediately
- Report non-attendance and sickness absence to line manager and HR Department without delay
- Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager
Relationship Responsibility
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies as and when required in a timely way
- Proactively contributes to the team and actively committed to teams’ development
Skills and Competency
- Hard working and conscientious with a flexible approach to work
- Previous warehouse administrator (desirable)
- Ability to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
