Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the import process from start to finish, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation logistics.
  • Review and verify import documents, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of import transactions and update internal systems accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure proper coordination and alignment of import activities.
  • Stay up to date with changes in import regulations and trade agreements to ensure compliance and optimize import processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and addressing any concerns related to imports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Import Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of import procedures, customs regulations, and international trade practices.
  • Familiarity with import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Proficiency in using import-related software systems and MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude.

Salary & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
