Overall Responsibility

  • Sustain a high level of competence in all areas of customs procedures & accurately declare FCL shipments going into Felixstowe, Tilbury, Southampton, Liverpool and Grangemouth.

Specific responsibilities

  • Processing a range of customs entries (homeuse, bond, bond removals ) for FCL shipments
  • Dealing with general enquiries from importers concerning all areas relating to customs procedures, i.e. tariff classifications, duty rates, licence and any other documentation requirements
  • Liaise with colleagues internally on a daily basis regarding clearance & delivery of shipments
  • Calculate Duty/Vat costs
  • Duty/vat reclaims
  • Cover FCL clearances at Thamesport and all LCL clearances when a member of staff is on holiday or off sick
  • Knowledge of chief (CNS), Destin8, Multifreight, multished
  • Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative to meet tight deadlines.

  • Due Diligence & care when completing all customs entries
