We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Customer Service and Operations Specialist. This role requires expertise in Sea Freight Export, EU Road Import and Export, and UK Customs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while acting as the central point of control for a portfolio of key customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage Sea Freight Export operations, including processing bookings, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Handle EU Road Import and Export operations, overseeing the smooth flow of goods and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with an operational team to plan and execute shipments, leveraging their support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by effectively managing customer expectations, providing accurate information, and proactively addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, understanding their unique requirements and providing tailored solutions.
  • Stay up to date with UK Customs regulations and procedures, ensuring compliance and facilitating smooth customs clearance processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to the wider team on customer service and operational matters.
  • Process documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring all records are maintained according to company standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in Sea Freight Export and EU Road operations is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Customs regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer relationships and handle inquiries and complaints.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Salary and Benefits

  • Our client is offering a competitive salary range of £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Flexible working hours (9:00-5:30) to accommodate personal needs.
